Skincare is my first love so I’m always in my happy place when I get to experiment and try new products. But let’s face it, it can be quite disappointing to finally buy a much hyped about product only for it to break you all out *shudders thinking about the Benton Aloe BHA toner* Earlier this year, I did a Korean Beauty skincare haul and I luckily found some really good gems that are now staples in my skincare routine and I think are worth checking out.
Heimish All Clean Balm : Courtesy of K beauty, I’m a big believer in double cleansing, first with an oil cleanser and then a regular cleanser. However, in my experience, finding an oil cleanser that doesn’t leave a sticky film on your face- I’m looking at you Faceshop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil- or does a good job of just taking off your makeup without breaking you out has been a bit of a challenge. Sephora’s own brand was the best I had ever tried but they had to mess a good thing up by changing the formula; it’s now discontinued :/ As of recent, I’d reverted to just using coconut oil as a makeup remover but I honestly dreaded the process as it was a bit of a pain and quite messy.
Fast forward to my recent haul, I came across the Heimish balm for the first time and was swayed by the positive reviews on YesStyle to try it and boy am I glad I did! I’m normally not that big on product packaging but I must say that I really love this one. It comes in the cutest little plastic jar with a pretty floral design that makes your counter just a bit prettier. As it’s a solid balm, the jar has a little spoon to scoop it up as needed. It melts into my face as soon as I apply it and dissolves my lipstick, waterproof eyeliner, mascara you name it all after a few rubs!
The icing on the cake is that it emulsifies very quickly upon adding water and washes away cleanly, with no sticky film left behind. I’m happy to report that there have been zero breakouts as well which is such a welcome result given my sensitive skin! Even my mom who’s normally a skeptic of my skincare trials has become just as obsessed with it as I am. I honestly cannot recommend this product enough if you’re looking for an effective makeup remover and oil cleanser at a budget friendly price point. 5 stars from me!
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask : Laneige is one of the very first K beauty products I came across but curiously enough, I just never bit the bullet to try any of their products. However, just as I was about to check out for this haul, I came across a travel size version of their ever famous Water Sleeping Mask and I decided to give it a try. I’m happy to report that it has been a little slice of heaven for my parched skin! I have combination skin that has been a bit drier and dehydrated per the winter weather so I wanted something to inject some much needed moisture and plumpness into my skin and this has done just that.
The lotion is cool to the skin and provides a very refreshing effect upon application. I always wake up the next morning with lovely, moisturised skin that is well balanced and dare I say, even glowy! It also wears very nicely under my sunscreen and makeup for my day routine. Suffice to say that I’ll be placing an order for a full size version in the upcoming weeks. This is a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask : I’m not gonna lie, this is a product that I had scoffed at in the past! I thought to myself then, who needs this gimmick when there’s good old vaseline around?! However, this came with the sleeping mask referenced above and I decided to just give a shot and see what all the fuss was about. Guys, I’ve been converted! This is feels so nice on the lips, like I’m not even sure how to describe it.
My poor lips are so susceptible to the winter dryness but that has been a thing of the past since I’ve been using this. Let’s face it, you don’t absolutely neeeeeeed this product BUT I honestly see myself repurchasing it in my next round up of products.
So there you have it, a couple of products that I’ve been positively surprised by and are now welcome additions to my skin care stash! If any of you guys have tried this product before, let me know your thoughts in the comment section below! If you’ve made some amazing skincare finds, please proceed to spill in the comments as well. Sharing is caring and all of that 😉
Lots of love,
